Taking a clear photo of your baby’s healing wound can be tricky—it often takes two people to do it well. But it’s important! A good photo helps us properly assess how the diamond is healing and make sure everything is progressing as it should.
We need to see the entire diamond shape under your baby's tongue to evaluate if it's staying open and healing properly. The goal is to capture:
All edges of the diamond
How wide it can be stretched
Tips for Getting a Clear Photo
Teamwork helps! Have one person gently hold and lift your baby’s tongue while the other takes the photo.
Make sure your baby is on a firm, safe surface with good lighting.
Try zooming in to really focus on the diamond area.
Video Tip
It can be much easier to record a short video while you stretch the diamond open. Then take a clear screenshot from the best frame that shows the diamond fully stretched.
Important Reminder
If you can’t see the entire diamond clearly in your photo or screenshot, please try again. We can only evaluate healing properly if the full diamond shape is visible.
